Big Weekend 2025 - Artists

Cajun Royale

Saturday 1:30 – 3:00 Main Hall

Stripped back, acoustic Cajun and Creole music delivered with soul and power, Cajun Royale encapsulate the dancehall sound heard in SW Louisiana.
The members of Cajun Royale are no strangers to the European Cajun scene having been in numerous of the leading outfits such as R. Cajun & the Zydeco Brothers, Bearcats, Deepzone Zydeco, Petite et la Grosse, Zydeco Diamonds and Lil Jim’s Big Squeeze.
Lil Jim, whilst not very little at all, is a towering presence with an amazing ability to drive songs with his syncopated accordion playing.
You may have spotted Andy Watson playing drums with a multitude of acts on the Cajun and Americana scenes, but we’ve planted a triangle in his hand for this show.
Murray Brailsford is the driving force on guitar and has even been called up by Steve Riley to back him on his European tours.
A Cajun band isn’t complete without the fiddle and who other than the Cajun concocter himself, Mitch Proctor.
Get ready to shake it on down to the dancefloor!
