Big Weekend 2025 - Artists

Hazel Scott Playboys

Timetable to be announced

The Hazel Scott Playboys have a special interest in playing the older, less well-known songs from the Cajun tradition, from the likes of Cleoma Breaux and Eva Touchet, alongside more popular Cajun dancehall classics
The Hazel Scott Playboys first emerged onto the Cajun Scene back in 2010 when members of several well-known UK Cajun bands, inspired by the amazing vocal talents of the band’s leader and namesake Hazel Scott, alongside a common interest in exploring the more obscure and un-discovered music within the tradition, decided to form a band around her.
The Band was well received yet short lived as other projects took over, but the idea has been revisited at the suggestion of the band’s drummer Gavin Lewery. Original members Chris Hall (accordion) and Hazel Scott (guitar and vocals) are joined by Ben Topley (bass) and last but by no means least David Buyle (fiddle). Together they create a powerhouse 5 piece that will play two steps, waltzes and Cajun blues.
Music to move and sooth the soul and lift your dancing feet!
