Big Weekend 2025 - Artists

Koray Broussard and Ruben Moreno

Saturday 10.00 – 12.00 Main Hall

Sunday 8:00 – 9:30 Main Hall

For Koray Broussard, Zydeco music is a family tradition. The Opelousas, LA native is a third-generation Zydeco musician; his father John, uncle Jeffrey, and grandfather Delton are all well-known players in Southern Louisiana and beyond. By tracing Koray’s family lineage, it becomes clear how Zydeco music has evolved over the decades.

From the rural sound of Delton’s string-based front porch performances to Koray’s club-ready R&B fusion, the genre has maintained its enduring relevance through adaptability and consistency. Koray is a full-time musician and leads his own band, the Zydeco Unit.

They perform regularly at festivals, concerts, and trail rides in Louisiana and Texas. When he isn’t performing, Koray spends his time in the studio working on new music. His upcoming album, titled “Redemption,” is set to be released later this year.
